True Story SLAM Night
The gift of storytelling is one of life's most impressive and influential skills. A story well told makes us laugh, weep, swell with pride, or sour with indignation. A compelling human story teaches us, inspires us, and helps mark our most important events in life.
Join us for our True Story SLAM Night, where 10 people get 5 minutes each to tell their best personal story sharing a common theme. Our storytellers are creative and use the theme wisely, not necessarily in an obvious or literal way. Our lives' stories have many themes within one experience, look at the month's themes and see if one of your great stories could apply. Use your creativity and intelligence to tell a well crafted story without reverting to base language or crude humor. Inspire us, entertain us, help us empathize, learn, or laugh! Stories must be TRUE and have happened to YOU. Winner receives $100 and moves on to compete in Storytelling Final at the end of the year. Best Storyteller voted by anonymous audience ballot.
