You will get the most enjoyable and effective method of music instruction available! You will go from where you are to where you want to get to in an fun and comprehensive way. Our private music lessons are with hand-picked, brilliant teachers who are highly educated, enthusiastic, and excellent musicians. Our instructors have all been background checked and most have advanced music degrees.
Do you teach complete beginners? How young is too young?
Yes we teach the best music lessons in Utah to absolute beginners – and there’s never been a better time to start than now! Our youngest students start at age 4 but we leave it to the parent to decide the attention level and dedication they feel their child can commit to.
Do you teach music lessons to advanced students?
Yes, many of our students are advanced. Tiger Woods still employs a coach/mentor... If you are more advanced we will take your playing or singing to the next level! We bring structure and discipline to your practice sessions and push you to really magnify your talent.
Will my guitar instructor teach me how to play guitar solos?
Yes, we love to teach people to improvise, and self-expression is the most important aspect of playing a musical instrument! Our head instructor also runs a blues backing tracks site where you can find many different backing tracks to learn how to improvise to!
Will my instructor help me write songs?
Absolutely! All private music lesson teachers employed at the London Studios are extremely talented songwriters, performers, producers in their own right. We work with many students and clients to help them realize their songwriting aspirations. We also offer special Master Songwriting Workshops focused entirely on the art of Songwriting.
Will I have something to work on every week?
Yes, your instructor will provide you with a task sheet, and if requested, your instructor will video record parts of the lesson so you have something to watch and learn from in between lessons.
Can you teach me how to play the songs I love or the tunes I hear on the Radio?
Absolutely, in your initial lesson we ask you to write a list of the songs you'd like to learn and then your instructor will set goals to get them learned as soon as possible. We also train your ear so you can work songs out just by listening to them!
Will I learn music theory?
Yes, and we make it as interesting as possible – We teach fundamentals in an enjoyable way – great for younger students! But it is FAR MORE IMPORTANT to get a practical ability and understanding before you tackle any theory.
Will you teach me how to sight read?
Yes. Guitar lessons students will also learn to read tablature (a unique form of guitar notation that is slightly ‘easier’ to read than music.) In addition, special workshops are offered on learning specifics of sight reading.
Am I too young or old to start learning a new instrument?
Our youngest student is 4 and the oldest is 78, so no, you’re not too young or too old! There is no better time than right now to start music lessons!
Will I get better at my chosen instrument?
You will be amazed at your progress with London Studios! Our methods sky-rocket our student's awareness and ability, and encourage a deep love of their instrument. Your progression is, however, directly related to your devotion to practice sessions outside of your lessons, as well as your focus within your weekly time with us.
How long are the lessons?
We offer weekly 30 minute or hour lessons.
How much do the lessons cost?
With a wide range of time slots and price points available, we discuss with you your budget, scheduling, and musical aspirations before you begin with us. Each instructor brings a special skill set to his lessons and our lesson fees are based on the instructor's experience, schooling, and tenure with us. Beginner lessons for guitar, piano, drums, and violin are $145 monthly. Voice lessons are $155 monthly.
How often are the lessons?
Lessons take place once a week at a set time. We also offer a very limited amount of ‘floating’ slots for professionals that have trouble keeping a set time each week.
What if I can’t make a lesson?
Our policy is to require 24 hour notice before missing a lesson. No fee will be charged with proper notice.
